Task: Check storage usage and quota for OneDrive and SharePoint
View OneDrive Storage Usage
Using OneDrive for Work or School on the Web:
- Sign in to OneDrive (https://portal/office.com/onedrive).
- Select the Settings gear icon on the top right.
- In Settings, go to OneDrive Settings > More Settings > Storage Metrics. Your used space and total storage are in the upper right corner
- Selecting a folder will show additional contents sorted by largest files.
Using the OneDrive Sync App (Windows)
- In the system tray (bottom-right corner), select the OneDrive cloud icon.
- Right-click the icon and choose Settings, or click to open the app and choose the Settings gear icon.
- Storage used and available is shown on the bottom left of the default Sync and Backup tab.
- Click Manage Storage. This will open a page in your web browser showing your OneDrive’s largest files to aid in cleanup.
Using the OneDrive Sync App (MacOS)
- Locate and click the OneDrive cloud icon in the menu bar at the top right of your macOS screen to open the OneDrive app.
- Click the Gear icon at the top and choose Preferences.
- Click the Account tab to view storage used and available.
- Click Manage Storage. This will open a page in your web browser showing your OneDrive’s largest files to aid in cleanup.

View SharePoint Site Storage Metrics
Important! Only users with Owner or site-admin permissions for the SharePoint site will be able to view storage metrics.
For Site Owners and Admins:
- Launch your SharePoint site.
- Select Settings (gear icon top right) > Site Information > View all site settings (at the bottom).
- Under the Site Collection Administration section, select Storage Metrics to view detailed site storage usage.
- Your site collection storage quota will appear in the top right corner of the Storage Metrics page, along with a breakdown of data usage.
Outcome
Your OneDrive and SharePoint storage and usage data are displayed.
