Answers
A1 - How many users would it require to have Application Administrators import in Canvas Extend?
If you have 100+ users of the course and you would like assistance importing, please reach out to Application Administrators using the Canvas Extend Service Request - otherwise please refer to our Knowledge Base article- Canvas Extend USNH: Adding & Managing Users in a Course.
FYI - There are several groups that use Canvas Extend and some of those groups have their own registration/import process, so make sure before you proceed with any requests you refer to your departmental documentation on Canvas Extend.
Please make sure to format a spreadsheet correctly following the guidance in the attached article and the guidance of our Application Administration team. You will not be able to edit the names or emails of users entered incorrectly.
As noted in Canvas Extend USNH: Adding & Managing Users in a Course article
If you have admins help import these users, you’ll likely need assistance in deprovisioning users and will have to follow a similar process, as you cannot mark these users as active or inactive.

A2 - How do I deprovision users?
If you have enrolled your users manually or yourself, we recommend removing users from the course following the instructions in our Knowledge Base article

A3 - For the pro-rated payment due on startup with Canvas Extend who do I contact?
For this please contact our CIO Admins at cio.admins@unh.edu.
Back to Questions

Our CIO admins will reach out at the beginning of the fiscal year asking for estimate and funding info to be charged. They will reach out again close to the end of fiscal year for numbers to do reconciliation.
Back to Questions
A5 - Are individual students charged for Canvas Extend?
Individual non-USNH students are not charged directly for Canvas Extend; this must be covered by your department.
Back to Questions
A6 - How do you know if my Canvas Extend course is active or inactive?
Our Application Administration team does audit courses on a yearly basis to see if there is any activity still and will close them if there is no activity, they will reach out to the identified teachers in the courses as part of this annual process.
Back to Questions
Q7 - Should I remove both USNH and external users for cleanup/maintenance purposes once my course is complete?
We do recommend doing so to generally clean up the course content.
Q8 - How do I keep track of my Canvas Extend users/students?
Users/students are tracked using the methods of your choice, you should be tracking in a spreadsheet or something outside of Canvas Extend. You can use New Analytics in Canvas for verification. New Analytics will give you a baseline on the course members but doesn't show when users are removed. If you don’t see New Analytics in your Course Navigation, and you would like to use it please reference our article Canvas: Managing the Course Menu - for reference on how to make changes to course navigation. You can read more about New Analytics in our Knowledge Base article - Canvas (myCourses): New Analytics – Instructor.
