Summary
Enterprise Technology & Services provides support, management, and services for computers in classroom and some departmental lab spaces.
All computers will be setup using a standard configuration package of approved software. Departments can request other software programs to be included. This service can also be customized to provide other environments should the typical setup not meet the needs of the department. This service is only available for computers located in a lab space, classroom, or a teaching laboratory. This service does not extend to computers in faculty or departmental offices or research labs. The department must provide computers that meet minimum specifications for the operating systems used by Enterprise Technology & Services, and the computers must be on a valid Ethernet connection. Options for support of laptops are available.
Course Software Installations
Every spring we recommend faculty and staff submit software needed for the upcoming fall/spring semester to ensure the software is ready for usage.
The ET&S staff install and maintain all of the software for the public Computer labs and Classrooms, as well as various department-owned labs that we manage. In addition to actually installing requested programs, we also will consult with faculty members trying to select the best software for use in their courses. If you wish to discuss a planned purchase of software for use in a course, we can provide you with much expertise in selecting applications which will meet your teaching goals and our technological requirements.
Faculty can request that software be installed by clicking the Request Service button on the right.
Please note that:
- Software requests should be placed at least 2 weeks in advance of needing the software. (3 weeks for non-academic groups.)
- Faculty are responsible for properly licensing the software and providing all necessary materials and information to ET&S
- Instructors should plan to test the software after it is installed and in advance of providing students access or assignments.
