Setting Up Call Forwarding

Summary

This article displays how to set up call forwarding on your campus phone or a VoIP or digital phone. Call forwarding will send all calls to a different extension  Call Forwarding must be completed at your campus phone and must forward to a local extension.

If you are not at your campus phone but want to forward calls, or if you need to forward your campus phone to an off-campus number, you need to sign up for EC500 service via the Make A Request form on our Telecom website.

 

How-to

Task: To set-up call forwarding on your campus phone

 

Instructions

Step 1 - To forward all calls to any on-campus extension, dial *2 + the five-digit extension to which you are forwarding your calls. You will hear the three-burst confirmation tone. 

Calls to your extension may give an abbreviated ring, to remind you that call forwarding is active.

Step 2 - To cancel call forwarding,  dial #2

Outcome

You should be able to forward all calls or cancel call forwarding.

Task: To set-up call forwarding on a VoIP or digital phone

 If using a VoIP or digital phone, a dedicated "Call Forward" button can be used instead.  "Call Forward" is active when the light is on for the associated button.  

Instructions

Step 1 - To activate, press the button + the five-digit extension to which you are forwarding your calls.

Step 2 - When lit, press the button to deactivate.

You should be able to forward all calls or deactivate call forwarding.
