Canvas: New Analytics -- Students

Summary 

New Analytics show students assignment progress, average page and participation, and communication statistics for a course. Data is displayed to the students through an interactive chart graph or table.

New Course Analytics for Students 

Students can access analytics for each of their courses and review updated progress on Course Grades, Weekly Online Activity and Communication. The analytics can be viewed as an interactive chart graph or as a data table.   

 

 In the Course Grade tab students will see their assignment progress:

  • submission status
  • grade
  • due date
  • status (on-time, late, missing

In the Weekly Online Activity tab students will see their average page and participation in:

  • announcements
  • assignments
  • discussions
  • quizzes

This is the weekly online activity chart in Canvas.

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the Communication tab students will see: 

  • the week start date
  • number of conversations between instructor and student from the Canvas Inbox
  • total number of messages sent by the instructor and student

This is the communication analytics chart in Canvas.
