Depot Warehouse: Receiving a returned device in TeamDynamix (ETS Internal)

Summary

This article provides instructions for adding an receiving a device that has been returned to inventory in the Hardware Asset application in TeamDynamix.

In order to perform this function, you will need to be assigned the Depot Warehouse role in the TDx Hardware Asset application. If you have not already been assigned these permissions, please reach out to the Asset Management team to request this role.

Task: Receiving a hardware device that has been returned to inventory in the TeamDynamix Hardware Asset application

Instructions

Step 1 - With the asset open in TeamDynamix, click on the ‘Edit’ button in the upper left:

Step 2 - Make sure the Form that is selected is the Technician Asset Form:

Step 3 - When receiving a returned device, there are multiple fields that need to be updated, including:

  • Status: Update from 'In Use' to 'Inventory':

  • Requestor: The person the device was issued to; not always the same as the Owner. This should be cleared if the device is returned to inventory.
  • Requesting Acct/Dept: The department where the device was issued. This should be cleared if the device is returned to inventory.

  • Location: The location the device was located at; should be cleared if device is returned to inventory.
    • Location Room: Should also be cleared when device is returned, if filled out (will only appear if it was filled out)

Step 4 - Click the 'Save’ button in the upper left; you will see a confirmation message stating the changes have been saved. To go back to the asset information, click the button ‘To Detail

Step 5 - You have successfully returned this hardware asset to inventory. It may be moved into the appropriate inventory room at this point.

 

Outcome

The hardware asset has successfully been returned to inventory in TeamDynamix.
