Team Member: Submitting a request to update an asset in TeamDynamix (ETS Internal)

Summary

This article provides instructions for submitting a request to update the properties of an existing asset in the Hardware Asset application in TeamDynamix.

In order to perform this function, you will need to be assigned the Team Member role or higher in the TDx Hardware Asset application. If you have not already been assigned these permissions, please reach out to the Asset Management team to request this role.

Task: This article provides instructions for submitting a request to update properties of an existing asset in the Hardware Asset application in TeamDynamix.

Instructions

Step 1 - Note which information for the asset needs to be updated/ is incorrect

Step 2 - Navigate to the Hardware Asset Inventory Request Form and click the ‘Request Service’ button:

Step 3 - Fill out the Requestor information at the top of the form so that the Asset Management team is able to follow up with any questions and confirm when your request has been completed:

  • Your (Requestor) Name
  • Institution
  • Role
  • Secondary contact person, if applicable
  • Email
  • Phone number
  • Request title/ summary

Step 4 - From the ‘Request Type’ menu, choose ‘Update an Existing Asset’:

Step 5 - Fill out the asset Name, Service Tag and Serial Number:

Step 6 - Use the description field to describe what asset properties are incorrect and what they should be updated to:

Step 7 - Fill out the ‘Location’ field. Use Off-campus if the user is remote.

Step 8 - Attach any applicable photos/ documents/ screenshots using the ‘Attachment’ field:

Step 9 - Submit the form using the ‘Request’ button.

 

Outcome

You have successfully requested to update a hardware asset in TeamDynamix.
