Summary
This article provides instructions for issuing a loaner hardware device to an end user or department in the Hardware Asset application in TeamDynamix.
In order to perform this function, you will need to be assigned the Technician role or higher in the TDx Hardware Asset application. If you have not already been assigned these permissions, please reach out to the Asset Management team to request this role.

Task: Issuing a loaner hardware device to an end user or department in the TeamDynamix Hardware Asset application
Instructions
Step 1 - After pulling an available loaner from the loaner pool, pull up the hardware asset in TeamDynamix and hit the ‘Edit’ button in the upper left corner:

Step 2 - Make sure the Form that is selected is the Technician Asset Form:

Step 3 - When issuing a loaner device, there are multiple fields that need to be populated, including:
- Status: Update from ‘Inventory’ to ‘In Use’:

Substatus: Remove the ‘Available’ tag by clicking the red ‘x’:

- Requestor: The person the loaner device is being issued to
- Requesting Acct/Dept: The department where the device will be issued/ that has requested the device for use
- Location: Add the physical location/ building of the end user or department’s office (use the ‘Off campus’ location if the end user does not have an office on campus)
- Location Room: The room number the device will be in, if applicable
Institution: Make sure this field is populated and accurate

Step 4 - Click the 'Save’ button in the upper left; you will see a confirmation message stating the changes have been saved. To go back to the asset information, click the button ‘To Detail’

Step 5 - If there is an existing ticket for the request, make sure to add the asset to the ticket as well.
Outcome
You have successfully issued this loaner to the end user/ department in TeamDynamix.
