Intune: Remediating Windows Activation Issues (ETS Internal)

Summary

Remediations can be run against a group of devices to perform an action, but can also be run on a specific computer.  The Windows Activation Remediation should run on each device when it goes through the Autopilot process to activate the device, however there is a chance that a device may get through without being activated.  In this case, take the following steps.

Task: Run Activation Remediation to resolve device that is not activated

Instructions

Step 1 - Find the device in Intune.

Browse to https://intune.microsoft.com

Click on Devices on the left-hand side, then Windows.

Step 2 - Type the Device Name or serial in the search, then click on the Device Name.

Step 3 - On the far-right side of the Device Overview page, click the 3 dots and choose Run Remediation.

Step 4 - Choose Activation Remediation, and click Run Remediation.

Step 5 - Browse back to the Device Overview Page, run a Sync and monitor the remediation action.

Step 6 - Action status will say "Complete" when finished.  

 

Outcome

The remediation process has been successfully finished.
