How-To

Task: Correct Time Zone

Instructions

Step 1 - Add the device to the Intune - Time Zone Exception group in Intune.

Step 2 - Schedule the USNH Disable AutoTimeZone Updater Service Remediation from the intune portal:

To achieve this go to Devices, Windows, and search for the device by serial number. Select the device and click on the 3 dots from the top bar, this will generate a drop down menu where you will select "Run Remediation (Preview)" - This will generate a new screen and populate a list of available remediations. Search for "Time" and you will see USNH Disable AutoTimeZone Updater Service, select the box and click Run Remediation. Your remediation is now scheduled.

Step 3 - Force a sync on the local device - this can be achieved by navigating to Settings, Accounts, Access Work or School, select the USNH ID and then info. Scroll down and select "Sync"

Step 4 - Reboot device, have the user log back in and go to settings, Time & Language, Date & Time to set desired settings.

Outcome

User can now manually set the time zone based on their needs and with the auto service disabled, the time zone will not change without manual intervention.
