What differences should I expect with AVST Secure Accounts?

Summary

This article holds information about UNH AVST secure accounts. It includes the differences between AVST secure accounts and the old Exchange Unified Messaging service.

Content

This account type is pretty different from the old Exchange Unified Messaging service:

  • Voice messages are kept out of email for security
  • Email notifications are used to alert the status of new messages only.  These are enabled when the account is initially setup, but can be disabled by the user through web interface.
  • Speech-to-text transcriptions and .wav attachments are not available in this account type
  • Secure Individual Account holders can access messages and settings from on-campus
  • Secure Accounts can be accessed over the phone by dialing 2-4444, without some of the double prompting and quirks from previous solutions
  • More self-service features will be coming to the telecom.unh.edu site for Secure Account administration
