Summary
This article shows how to complete the voicemail setup process, reset your voicemail password, and explains why you have to change your security code twice to access features of your UNH AVST voicemail account.
When your voicemail account was created, an email was sent with instructions to setup your account. If you did not complete the account set-up process, meaning completing all the set-up steps and waiting until you heard "Congratulations.", then your account is still awaiting initial setup. In this state, you will always be prompted to change your security code every time you log in over the phone.
Elements required to finish initial account setup:
- Set your security code
- Record your name
- Record your greeting

Task: To complete the set-up process
Instructions
Step 1 - Call 2-4444 from on campus or (603) 862-4444 from off campus
Step 2 - Dial # followed by your 5-digit phone extension and security code
If you cannot do that because you’ve forgotten or lost your last known security code, or your account is locked, refer to the instructions below to explain how to reset your password.
Step 3 - You will be prompted to change your security code again, and complete the rest of the mailbox setup process until you hear "Congratulations!"
Outcome
You should be able to complete the initial set-up process.

Task: To reset your voicemail password so you can complete the initial set-up process
Instructions
Step 1 - Go to Telecom’s self-service website https://telecom.usnh.edu (Login required)
Step 2 - Under the Home tab, press the button labeled "Reset Voicemail Password for XXXXX"
Step 3 - Follow the emailed link to complete the security code (password) reset
When setting this security code on the website, note that you will prompted to change this again when accessing the voice interface, if your account is still awaiting initial setup.
Outcome
You should be able to reset your voicemail password so that you can complete the initial setup of your voicemail.
