Summary
Adding a printer to your device as outlined in this article means setting up your computer to send documents or files to a specific printer for printing. This guide will walk through the process of adding the MFD and setting up the proper codes for non-PaperCut MFD's.
Note: A good alternative is to use the "follow-me" print queues which allow you to print to any PaperCut enabled printer on campus. See instructions in PaperCut Print: Printing from a Managed Computer - MacOS .
First, you will add the Xerox Multi-Function printer to your Mac so that it is in the Mac's list of available printers. You must install the newest Xerox drivers for the printer. You can get the driver from Self Service. If the printer is controlled by PaperCut then that is the complete process.
Not Common: If the printer is one of the few not controlled by PaperCut, then you may need to optionally configure the printer's setup on your Mac so that it will send your department's accounting print code to the printer for each time that you print.

Task: To configure the print code for non-PaperCut MFD's
Instructions
Step 1 - Verify that your MFD requires this setting. The majority of copiers are controlled by PaperCut and no longer require accounting codes. An easy way to tell is: if you can tap your ID card to use the copier, then it is controlled by PaperCut and you do not need to continue with these instructions.
Step 2 - Go to your Applications folder and find the TextEdit program, which is a basic word-processing program that comes with Macs. You can also search for TextEdit using the Spotlight search icon, a magnifying glass, in the upper right corner of your screen
Step 3 - Open TextEdit and create a test document
Step 4 - Select File and then Print
Step 5 - Select the "Show Details" button
Step 6 -Open the drop-down labeled TextEdit

Step 7 - Select "Xerox Features"
Step 8 - Open the drop-down labeled "Paper/Output"

Step 9 - Select Advanced, and then select Accounting

Step 10 - From the drop-down menu, select "Xerox Network Accounting" or "Send user ID and Account ID"
Step 11 - Enter your print code under "Default User ID"
Step 12 - Enter 9292 under "Default Account ID"

Step 13 - Click OK and you will be returned to the printing menu
Step 14 - Click on the drop-down menu labeled Presets and select "Save Current Settings as Preset"
Step 15 - Name the new preset "PSU Code" and save. Now each time you print to this MFD, it will automatically enter their print code and account ID.
Note: Once this is successfully configured, send a test document to the printer to verify. If you attempt to print a .pdf document to the MFD, you will need to select "Printer" from the bottom of the print menu

Step 16 - Then select "Show Details", and change the Preset to the newly created "PSU Code"

Outcome
You have successfully configured the print code.
