Canvas Commons
Canvas Commons is a learning object repository (LOR) that allows faculty to search for resources, import resources to their course, and publicly share their teaching resources with other faculty.
A resource in Commons can be a course, module, quiz, assignment, discussion, page, document, video, image, or audio file. Resources can be filtered by type, grade level, and shared with, which will allow you to filter results by publicly shared resources, in your account, in a group, or in the consortium for your institution.
Searching for Resources
- To open Canvas Commons, click the Commons icon in the Global Navigation menu. The first time you access Commons, you will be asked to authorize your account.
- Type your search criteria into the search bar at the top of the screen. You can sort your results using the Sort By drop-down menu and the Filter button.
- Preview the resource by clicking the resource title.
