EAB Navigate360: Dashboard

Task: The Dashboard is designed to help you be more productive and strategic when managing your unique student caseload.  Dashboards are highly customizable.

Each of the 'blocks' or 'section' of the Dashboard are called a Widget.  First, staff members can adjust the layout of My Dashboard by using the   button to drag widgets and lists and arrange the dashboard accordingly.

Instructions:

  1. There are four widgets available in the Dashboard in this release, as described below. Various settings are controlled by the Settings button and by buttons in the corner of each widget.

    My Assigned Students

This widget shows several types of aggregate information about your assigned students.

You can change what displays by opening the menu and choosing from the options.

  • Students by Support Level. This option displays your assigned students by high, medium, low, or undefined Predictive Support Level in either a donut chart or a tabular list.
  • Enrolled in [This Term]. This option displays students assigned to you that have enrolled in the current term, as defined by your SIS.
  • Enrolled in [Next Term]. This option displays students assigned to you that have enrolled in the next term, as defined by your SIS.
  • Appointments Completed – Last 90 Days. This option displays students assigned to you that you have met, or not met with, in the past 90 days.

Each option lets you view the list of students by clicking on the legend or the segment of students. There is an Actions menu for the list of students so you can take common actions like Send a Message or Add to Campaign as well.

My Assigned Students Activity Feed

This widget is an aggregated list of activity for your assigned students.

The activities included in the feed are:

  • Alerts Issued
  • Case Opened or Closed
  • Notes Added
  • Progress Reports Added
  • Appointment Summaries Added
  • Appointments Scheduled
  • New student assigned to you

This widget includes a filter that lets you choose which activity types to see in the feed. These must be done every time you open the Dashboard.

My Appointment Summaries Pending

This widget is a list of appointments you had in the past 90 days that do not have Appointment Summaries. In this case, it does not matter if the student you met with was assigned to you or not.

Clicking the student's name opens their Student Profile. You can also see all your recent appointments by selecting the All Recent Appointments link.

My Appointment Campaigns

This widget shows a list of active Appointment Campaigns you created. Selecting the View All link opens the Appointment Campaigns page in Navigate.

Each active Appointment Campaign in the list includes the following associated metrics: Number of Students, Appointments Scheduled, Attendance Rate, and Appointment Summaries Created.

Using a V3 Report as a Dashboard Widget

  1. Any saved V3 report can be turned into a custom tile. Do this by selecting the Add Tile option from the Settings button and selecting options from the Add Tile panel.

  1. The dashboard is updated the first time a user opens it for the day. After this, it will not update unless the user selects the Refresh button.

  1. If a custom tile has a Detail View with rows, users can take action on students directly from the tile. Note that there are no mass actions on dashboard tiles.

  1. As part of the Staff Dashboard updates, there have also been changes to V3 reports to facilitate customized tiles.
  2. First, if the saved report the user selects from the Add Tile panel does not work with a tile, a message appears that tells the user the report needs to be saved again. This usually happens if the user has not created a pivot table and tries to select a view like Chart Summary, which requires a pivot table to display.

  1. Next, in the STC 24.16 release, funnel charts were released as an option in pivot charts. These can be used to create tiles that show a “pipeline”, e.g. if a user wants to create progress through an alert workflow. Note you must create a pivot table and save the V3 report before using the Chart Summary or Table View options for a funnel chart tile. The example below is Recruitment Success, but a Student Success chart will look the same.

Outcome:

Users should now be able to use the Staff Dashboard in order to get quick high level information regarding their students and appointments.
