Globus: Premise HPC Cluster Access

Summary

This article will help you access your USNH High Performance Computing (HPC) Cluster Premise home folder using Globus.

Globus is a data transfer service widely used by universities and academic institutions. It allows researchers to transfer data between computers inside and outside of USNH. Globus may be used for any number and size of files.

How-To

Task: Authenticate Into Globus for use with HPC Cluster Premise

Instructions

Step 1 - Navigate to https://globus.org and click "Log In" at the top right of the page.

Step 2 - Under the Label for "Use your existing organizational login", use the the pull-down menu to select "University System of New Hampshire" and click the "Continue" button.

Step 3 - Log in with your USNH username and password on the UNH-based login page.

For first time logins -  You will have to setup your Globus account to use the service. This may include selecting your USNH email as your identity and granting permissions to allow the Globus web app to work on your computer. Please select your USNH email if/when prompted and "Allow" when asked.

  

Step 4 - In the Collection area, search for "USNH Premise" and click the link called "Premise HPC USNH home directories" that will appear below. Please note the Premise home directories are now "Premise HPC USNH home directories" -- not "UNH Premise home directories" and shown below.

 

Outcome

You should see your home directory in the Path text area at the top, and a list of the files in your home directory underneath.
