Student Printing: Releasing Print Jobs via QR Code - UNH

Summary

This article has instructions for how to release print job(s) using the QR code posted at a student printer.  This article is for UNH students.  

Use these instructions after you have sent a document to a student printer.

 

Mobile Device Required

A mobile device is required to use this process.  Your mobile device must:

  • Have a camera
  • Be set up to scan QR codes and open associated web pages
  • Be connected to the campus network by one of the following methods
    • eduroam (preferred)
    • VPN

 

How-To

Task: To release print jobs using the QR code posted at a student printer

Use these instructions after you have sent a document to a student printer.

Instructions

Step 1 - Go to the student printer and locate the QR code attached to the printer.

 

Step 2 - Point your mobile device camera at the QR code and open the web page according to your mobile device operating system instructions. Each campus and printer has its individual web page that the QR code will open.

Step 3 - Log in with your USNH username (username ONLY, NOT username@usnh.edu. e.g. jbd2519NOT jbd2519@usnh.edu) and your usual USNH password.

Step 4 - All your held documents in the "Follow Me" queue are displayed and selected by default. Check the checkbox for only the document(s) you want to print and select "Release" at the bottom.

Outcome

After a brief delay your document(s) will print to the printer/copier where you scanned the QR code.
