Summary
This article will discuss using the Search bar within Blue to better return results the user is looking for.
How-To
Task: Using the Search within Blue to find information efficiently.
When using the search, its best to click on one of the filters such as Tasks or Reports to better narrow the search results.
Instructions
Step 1 - When using the Search in Blue, know that this field is context sensitive. Meaning that the system will look for that specific string of characters in the search. Example: If you click on reports at the top of the page, the system will search only reports. If I type "port" the system will find that specific string of characters and will find and display the word "Report" because it contains "port"
Step 2 - If you type in just the course information, you will get information for that course across all semesters. Example: "KIN" only in the search field will return all courses with KIN in it. If you are looking for a specific semester you can add "KIN Fall 2024"
Step 3 - If you want to search "Fall 2024" reports, the system will return courses that took place in any Fall, regardless of the year because the system will find "Fall" in many report titles. If you want specifically, "Fall 2024" reports, put the search criteria in quotes, this will force the system to search that specific string of words together.

Step 4 - Use the Filters below the search box to better help find your information easily.

Step 5 - To clear your search criteria, use the Clear Search link just above the search results

Outcome
Users should be able to efficiently use the Blue Search and Filters to find the information they require.
