Summary
This article describes how authorized Group Managers can manage membership within TeamDynamix groups. It covers how to locate a group, add or remove members, and adjust notification or primary-group settings. These instructions apply to TDNext users who have been approved by their supervisor to act as a Group Manager in specific TDx Groups.
Access Requirements
Before completing the steps in this article, you must:
- Have TDx WorkManagement (TDNext) access at https://td.usnh.edu/TDWorkManagement/
- Be approved for and assigned as a Manager for the group(s) you manage
- To request Group Manager permissions, fill out the TeamDynamix Group Manager Request form. Specify exactly which group(s) you want to manage.
- Your supervisor or manager must approve the request for you to be a Manager of the specified group(s).
- You will become a member of the group(s) you are going to manage if you weren't already in those group(s).
The Manager role allows you to add/remove members, adjust notification settings, and set primary group status.
Important: You may NOT assign Manager rights to anyone without proper authorization from their supervisor.

Task: Add a Member to a TDx Group
Instructions
Step 1 - From the Group Details page, click the Add Group Members button in the top tool bar.
Step 2 - In the Select People field, search for and click on the person you want to add. Use the magnifying glass icon to open the full Lookup People dialog if needed. You can search people by username, emaill address, or full name. If you cannot find the person or cannot select them, contact the TDx Administration Team with as much detail as possible.

Step 3 - Check or un-check the permissions boxes as needed:
- Included in Notifications – ON by default. Be sure to un-check if not wanted. If checked, this person will receive email whenever the Group is notified.
- Make Primary – sets this group as the primary group for the user. If checked, every time this person makes a TDNext ticket, the ticket will be assigned to their Primary group by default. The person will have to remember to change that if it is not correct. If someone works in multiple groups, this may not be helpful.
Important: Do NOT select “Manager(s)” without proper authorization.
Step 4 - Click Save to finish adding the person with the specified permissions.
Outcome
You are able to add a person to a TDx group you manage with the permissions you specified.

Glossary of Group Settings Options
Be Notified
This determines whether the individual member should be included in notifications directed at this group.
Individuals in the group with this option set will be notified when the group as a whole is being notified. Group notifications can happen as the result of ticket creation, editing, or assignment if the group is listed as a reviewer or responsible resource.
Make Primary
This determines whether the individual member should have their primary group updated to this group.
When a ticket or ticket task is assigned to a Group or to a Group + Person, the system checks the new assigned person's groups before updating the assignment on the ticket.
- If the new person is a member of the ticket/task's current group, the group assignment will stay on the ticket/task.
- If they are not a member of that group, the ticket/task will be assigned to their Primary Group as well as the individual.
- If they aren't a member of that group and also don't have a Primary Group, it will assign the ticket directly to the new person and remove the old Group assignment, leaving no group assignment on that ticket/task.
- If the ticket/task has no current group assignment and the person doesn't have a Primary Group, it will assign the ticket directly to the new person with no group assignment.
Manager
This determines whether the individual member should be a Group Manager.
Group managers have permission to adjust group settings for that group. Group managers are the equivalent of a "Reports To" option for users, except for an entire group.
If a ticket is being escalated because of its SLA and the ticket is assigned to a group, the "responsible resource's manager" option will notify all the group managers, regardless of their "Notified" setting.
Important: Group Manager should only be set through an authorized access request approved by the person's supervisor or manager.
