This article explains how to reset cameras for the VALT (Video Audio Learning Tool) observing & recording software used by the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS). You must have admin permissions in VALT to reset the cameras. Each department using VALT has an appointed VALT administrator; please reach out to them for assistance if you are not a VALT admin.

Task: Reset a camera for the VALT observing software
Instructions
Step 1 - Log in to VALT as an administrator
Step 2 - Navigate to the admin panel
Step 3 - Select 'Rooms and Cameras'
Step 4 - Select the room and specific camera that need to be reset from the left-hand sidebar menu.
Step 5 - Make note of the last number of the IP address for the camera in question.
Step 6 - Delete the last number of the IP address for the camera in question, then hit 'Enter'
Step 7 - Re-add the last number of the IP address to the camera IP field, then hit 'Enter' again
Step 8 - This will reset the IP address and bring the camera back up.
Outcome
You have now reset the VALT camera. You may verify this by navigating to the camera within the software and observing whether the camera is now pulling live video.
