The Long Range Technology Program (LRTP) provides strategic investment funding for technology innovation and improvement. Great ideas for technology projects come from departments across USNH. Strategic investment funding is limited, and proposals must have cross-institutional support.
LRTP funding awards cover expenses incurred from the initiation of the project until the service goes live. Expenses incurred in the fiscal year following implementation and beyond are considered sustainment costs. Each proposal must contain a plan to fund ongoing sustainment costs in the proposing department's annual operational budget. Proposals without a plan to fund sustainment may be rejected. If your project can be completed in FY27, for example, the annual costs for FY28 and beyond would be listed under Sustainment Costs.
Proposals are collected annually, with FY27 proposal submission opening November 20, 2025 and due December 18, 2025.
Upon submission of your proposal, you will be contacted by the Enterprise Technology & Services Project Management Office to assist in advancing your proposal through the proposal review process with Executive Councils and Presidents' Council.
