Task: Access Microsoft Education through Collaborations.

The Collaborations tool in Canvas uses Microsoft Education for collaborating. If the instructor of your course has enabled access to Collaborations, it will appear in the course menu list as "Collaborations". All faculty and students have an account on Microsoft Education. After accessing Collaborations, you may have to login to Microsoft. If you are a faculty member, is best to enable the Microsoft Sync in your course when working with collaborations. Instructions

Step 1 - Log in to Canvas and navigate to your course.

Step 2 - If you would like Collaborations visible to students, you'll want to go to your Course navigation and move Collaborations into the enabled menu. If you are a student, you will need to ask your faculty member for this access. 

Step 3- In the course menu list, click on Collaborations. If you haven't used collaborations before click + Start a New Collaboration to start a new collaboration 

Step 4 - Under Start a New Collaboration, select Microsoft Education from the "Collaborate using" field.

Step 5 - Select a document type or choose Select Existing Document to upload a document. 

Step 6 - Give your document a title (this is required)

Step 7 -  Under the people tab click on names from your course, or groups to add to the collaboration. 

Step 8 - Click Create 

Step 9 - You will now see that collaboration on the collaborations menu click on the title to access the collaboration. 

NOTE: If you get an error message, try clearing your browser Cache and re-login to the Collaborate site.
