Non-Browser Device Fingerprint Matrix
Smart TVs, gaming systems and other non-browsing devices need to be manually registered for the campus Open Network. The Campus Open network is the Wi-Fi configured for this type of traffic.
Often the Help Desk will get a call reporting they manually registered their device for the campus Open Network, but it is still not connecting. There is a good chance that the device was not "fingerprinted" correctly in the NAC.
Step 1 - Ask the user for the wireless MAC address for the device. Write it down.
Step 2 - Login to the NAC with your AD Domain credentials - Networking NAC Registration at https://networking.usnh.edu/registration/nac/
Step 3 - Type user’s name in the Search bar, found at top right of the page. You can also search for the MAC address.
Step 4 - Look for device with the MAC address provided in Step 1.
Step 5 - Check Fingerprinting. If incorrect, adjust to the configurations in the chart below.
Step 6 - If the device uses a remote or game controller, turn on AirGroup.
Step 7 - Click Save Changes.
Step 8 - Have the user power-cycle the device. Test for connectivity to Campus Open.
