Summary
This article provides instructions for retiring a hardware device in the Hardware Asset application in TeamDynamix.
In order to perform this function, you will need to be assigned the Technician role or higher in the TDx Hardware Asset application. If you have not already been assigned these permissions, please reach out to the Asset Management team to request this role.

Task: Retiring a hardware asset in the TeamDynamix Hardware Asset application
Instructions
Retired is the appropriate status to indicate that a device is no longer in use, but has not yet been picked up by our SEED vendor.
Step 1 - With the asset open in TeamDynamix, click on the ‘Edit’ button in the upper left:

Step 2 - Make sure that the Form that is selected is the Technician Asset Form.
Step 3 - Click on the ‘Status’ drop-down and change the Status from ‘In Use’ to ‘Retired’:

Step 4 - If the device was used for parts, you can use the ‘Substatus’ field to note that:

Step 5 - If the location has changed (for instance, the device has been turned in to a technician and is now in their office), update that under the ‘Location’ drop-down:

- Use the physical location of the device while it is waiting to go to SEED
- Once the device has been dropped off for SEED, its location will be updated to the applicable SEED storage location
Step 6 - Click the 'Save’ button in the upper left; you will see a confirmation message stating the changes have been saved. To go back to the asset information, click the ‘To Detail’ button:

Step 7 - You have successfully updated this hardware asset’s Status to ‘Retired’.
Outcome
Your hardware asset has successfully been retired in TeamDynamix.
