Staff and Faculty: Updating Apple MacOS devices after changing or resetting your password - all campuses

Summary

This article shows how to update an Apple macOS computer after changing or resetting your password. This applies to all campuses.

It is important to update all of your computers and devices after you have changed your USNH password.

If you are using a USNH-managed macOS computer, the first and most important step is to update your local computer account's login password to match your new USNH password to ensure you retain access to your account and data.

On both university-deployed devices and personal devices, some applications will ask for your new password, but others may not, causing your device to repeatedly try connecting with your old password. These failed attempts can lock your account as a security precaution.

If your account becomes locked, contact your campus Technology Help Desk team for assistance.

Note: For any Windows computers refer to Staff and Faculty: Updating Windows devices after changing or resetting your password - all campuses for instructions.
