UNH - myElements: Merging/Splitting duplicate publications

Task: This article describes how to merge duplicate publications in myElements.

Instructions:

Duplicate publications can occur for a few different reasons. If a publication was added as a submission, and then automatically claimed when it is published you may see a duplicate. You may also get a duplicate record if the publications are the same but have slightly different information captured.

To merge the records and capture all the information from both records

  1. From the home page click on Publications

  2. Select each record that you would like to merge by checking the box on the left side of the entry, then Click the ellipsis icons and add each to your workspace.

  1.  Click on your name in the upper right of the page and selected workspace

  2.  Select the items that you would like to merge

  3. Click Join
  4. Confirm the merge by clicking ok

To separate entries that you have merged

  1. Click on Publications

  2. Find the publication that needs to be split

  3. Click on Sources

  4. Click on Split Record

Outcome:

Users should be able to merge duplicate publications in myElements.
