Summary
This article describes how to merge duplicate publications in myElements.

How-To
Duplicate publications can occur for a few different reasons. If a publication was added as a submission, and then automatically claimed when it is published you may see a duplicate. You may also get a duplicate record if the publications are the same but have slightly different information captured.
Task: Merge the records and capture all the information from both records
Instructions
Step 1 - From the home page click on Publications
Step 2 - Select each record that you would like to merge by checking the box on the left side of the entry, then Click the ellipsis icons and add each to your workspace.

Step 3 - Click on your name in the upper right of the page and selected workspace
Step 4 - Select the items that you would like to merge
Step 5 - Click Join
Step 6 - Confirm the merge by clicking ok
Outcome
You will be able to merge content from two entries.
Task: Separate entries that you have merged
Instructions
Step 1 - Click on Publications
Step 2 - Find the publication that needs to be split
Step 3 - Click on Sources
Step 4 - Click on Split Record
