EAB Navigate360: Differences Between Navigate & Degree Works

Task: This article will outline the key differences between Navigate and DegreeWorks' applications.

Instructions:

Navigate:

  • Allows students and advisors to schedule appointments with each other in a simply easy to use interface
  • Advisors can record notes pertaining to academic advising conversations so that other advisors and faculty have a single source to reference to ensure they have the latest information regarding a student and their academic progress
  • Allows advisors a single application to reference for student success as it pertains to GPA
  • Advisors can see current and past classes taken and the recorded grades
  • Allows a proactive approach for student retention
  • Tracks changes in majors for the student

DegreeWorks:

  • This is a degree audit tool used to ensure students are taking and making progress against required classes and degree requirements for graduation
  • Shows what courses have been completed, including grades and in progress coursework.  Courses are grouped into appropriate degree requirement sections
  • Lists incomplete/remaining degree requirements
  • Allows you to run a "What-If" Degree Evaluation for different programs
  • NOT used to store advising notes
  • Students with questions about their Degree Work' audit should consult their academic advisor
