Task: To Manage your connection gateways.

Initially, the system connects you to the "Best Available" Connection Gateway, but that may not be your preferred default, or you may need to use a different Connection Gateway to access certain resources.

Instructions

Step 1 - Open the GlobalConnect VPN app.

Step 2 - Tap the up arrow (^) at the bottom of the screen to open the list of gateways.

Step 3 - Tap the three dots menu next to a gateway name.

Step 4 - Tap the menu item you prefer:

  • Tap "Connect" to connect to that gateway.  You will be disconnected from any previous gateway, then connected to this one.
  • Tap "Set As Preferred" to make that gateway be the one GlobalProtect will use by default when you click the Connect button.  Only one gateway at a time can be marked as Preferred.
  • Tap "Remove Preferred" if you want to have GlobalProtect use the "Best Available" gateway when you connect to VPN.

Step 5 - Tap the down arrow (v) at the top of the screen to close the list of gateways and reveal the Connect/Disconnect button.

Outcome

You have set a preferred gateway if you want to. You know how to connect to a different gateway if you need to do so.
