Summary
AppsAnywhere is a cloud-based application, available to students, faculty, and staff, that provides on-demand access to academic software anywhere, anytime, and is accessible from any Windows, MacOS, and Chromebook device. AppsAnywhere allows you to access your class software without visiting a computer lab or connecting to a VPN and you can also run multiple applications simultaneously.
Install AppsAnywhere Launcher
Task: To install AppsAnywhere on this MacOS computer
Note: You only need to install the AppsAnywhere Launcher once for each new device.
Instructions to Install AppsAnywhere Launcher (click to expand/collapse)
Step 1 - Browse to https://appsanywhere.usnh.edu
Step 2 - Sign in with your USNH username@usnh.edu (like jbd2519@usnh.edu), password, and MFA if required.
Step 3 - Accept the EULAs
Step 4 - Click "Install now" and "Allow" the download, while keeping this tab open for Step 8
Step 5 - Unzip the downloaded file
Step 6 - Run the setup file by double-clicking it
Step 7 - Click "Open" to accept and open the file
Step 8 - AppsAnywhere will begin to install the client. Enter your computer password when required
Step 9 - Setup should complete; Click "Done" to exit the installer
Step 10 - Once finished, go back to your browser and click "I have completed installation"
Step 11 - Allow the website to open the client. Click "Always Allow"
Outcome
You will be brought to the AppsAnywhere app launcher home page.

Using AppsAnywhere
Launching an App
Task: To access and use software applications through AppsAnywhere on a MacOS computer
Instructions
Step 1 - Browse to https://appsanywhere.usnh.edu
Step 2 - Sign in with your USNH username@usnh.edu (like jbd2519@usnh.edu), password, and MFA if required.
Step 3 - If you have previously installed the AppsAnywhere client on this device, click "I have it already" and proceed to Step 4
Note: If this is the first time you are using AppsAnywhere on this device, please follow the Install AppsAnywhere Launcher then return to continue from Step 4
Step 4 - You will see the AppsAnywhere app launcher. Find a software application by searching in the search bar or clicking "View all apps" for an alphabetical list of apps. If you still do not see the app you want, click "Load more apps" at the bottom of the page
Step 5 - Hover over an application to launch it. Click "Launch"
Step 6 - In the Connect to Server box, type your USNH username@usnh.edu (like jbd2519@usnh.edu) and password, then click "Log In"
Step 7 - Next, click "Confirm" to grant access to your user Home folder on your Mac. It will be named <system username> folder
Step 8 - Click "Open", then click "Done". You will now have access to your local drive on your Mac device.
Step 9 - Click "OK" to launch the application. Depending on the size of the application, it may take a shorter or longer amount of time to fully load.
Note: You must allow access to the Home folder every time you open an app in AppsAnywhere.
Outcome
The selected app will be open with a virtual desktop in the Parallels app.

Saving your work
Task: To save a file to your local drive through AppsAnywhere on a MacOS computer
Instructions
Step 1 - To save on your Mac, please choose "Save As" (Word has been used as an example here)
Your drive will appear on the left. Your user folder is set by default, and you can save it in your local user folder.
Note: Your Desktop, Documents, and Downloads folders are listed under your user folder. It is recommended to save to one of these folders for your convenience
Outcome
The file will be saved into the local folder you have chosen.

Opening your previous works
Task: To open a file from your local drive through AppsAnywhere on a MacOS computer
Instructions
Step 1 - To open files from your Mac, please choose "Open" (Word has been used as an example here).
Your drive will appear on the left. Your user folder is set by default, and you can open it in your local user folder.
Step 2 - Choose "This PC" and Select your drive
Step 3 - Locate the file you would like to open from your user folder and click "Open"
Note: Your Desktop, Documents, and Downloads folders are listed under your user folder. It is recommended to open from one of these folders for your convenience
Outcome
The local file will be open.
