Staff and Faculty: Updating Apple MacOS devices after changing or resetting your password - all campuses

Summary

This article shows how to update Apple Mac computers after changing or resetting your password. This applies to all campuses.

If you're using a university-deployed Mac, the first and most important step is to update your local account's password to match your new USNH password to ensure you retain access to your account and data.

On both university-deployed devices and personal devices, some applications will ask for your new password, but others may not, causing your device to repeatedly try connecting with your old password. These failed attempts can lock your account as a security precaution.

If your account becomes locked, contact your campus Technology Help Desk for assistance.
