Answers

A1 - What is document imaging? What tools are being used at USNH?

Document imaging is the process of electronically storing documents. These documents may be scanned or uploaded into a software system and are then available for searching and viewing.

For many years, the University System of New Hampshire has used Xtender as its document imaging tool. Between summer 2025 and summer 2027, Laserfiche will be rolled out to replace Xtender as the USNH document imaging tool.

For more information about the transition from Xtender to Laserfiche, please see Document Imaging: Transition from Xtender to Laserfiche.
