Summary
This article is for the use of USNH Help Desk staff members to remediate any client endpoints that are un-managed or are missing Configuration Manager (ConfigMgr) from their configuration. SCCM stands for Microsoft's "System Center Configuration Manager."
Initial Checklist
Step 1 - Search for the device in Intune, if you see “Co-Managed” then SCCM is still relevant to this device.
Step 2 - Select the device and review the last check-in time with Intune.
Step 3 - Scroll down if necessary and ensure the Intune managed workloads are there.
Ticket information
- Tickets will be opened for this activity in the same manner and under the same guidelines as established by the Help Desk.
- Below you will find the three Scenarios we are likely to see and steps for determining actions.
- The following instructions are for Hybrid-joined devices.
Scenario 1: Completely unmanaged device, not in AD
Action Steps for HD
Step 1 - Assist user to join computer to AD.
Step 2 - Assist the user in installing the SCCM client.
Issue Resolution
Scenario 2: Managed device in AD, but “fallen out" of compliance likely due to being off network for a long period of time
Action Steps for HD
Step 1 - Assist user to remove computer from AD.
Step 2 - Reboot.
Step 3 - Join to AD.
Step 4 - Check on the status of the Configuration Manager agent State in Intune.
- If the Configuration Agent Management state is Healthy, then you are finished
- If the Configuration Agent Management state is not Healthy, reinstall the SCCM client.
Issue Resolution
Scenario 3: Managed device in AD, but no SCCM client is installed
Action Step for HD
Step 1 - Assist user by manually installing SCCM Client (Configuration Manager).
Issue Resolution
Scenario 4: User indicates it is a Personal Device
Action Step for HD
- Personal devices should not be tied to USNH management.
Issue Resolution
- Please contact your team lead to discuss next steps to verify whether the device is personal or managed.
