Connecting to the Tableau Mobile App

Summary

USNH Tableau interactors can access server content via the Tableau mobile app after connecting to the VPN. Tableau Mobile allows USNH interactors to view data visualizations on our Tableau Server wherever and whenever it is needed. 

Tableau Mobile App Requirements

• A mobile device with iOS 11 or later, or Android 5 or later
• An account on the Tableau Server - Requesting a Tableau Server Account

How-To

Before using the Tableau mobile app, you must first connect to the USNH Enterprise VPN.

Instructions

Step 1 - Open the GlobalProtect VPN client app on your mobile device. 

Step 2 - Tap the "Tap to Connect" button in the center of the app and sign in with username@usnh.edu, password, and MFA if prompted.

Outcome

Your mobile device will be connected to the USNH Enterprise VPN.

How-To

Instructions

Step 1 - Search your device's application store for the Tableau Mobile app.  Download and install the app.

Step 2 - Before connecting the mobile app to the USNH Tableau Server make sure your mobile device is connected to the VPN (instructions above).

Step 3 - Enter the server name: https://tableau.unh.edu/ (used for all USNH Tableau interactors) and select Connect to Server.

Step 4 - Once connected, you will be challenged for your Microsoft login and MFA.  Follow onscreen prompts.

Step 5 - Browse for content using the explore button and use the star icon to tag your favorite vizzes for easy access.

Note: If you become signed out of the Tableau Mobile app, select the server tableau.unh.edu from the list of Recent Connections or repeat from Step 3 above to sign in again.

Outcome

You are connected to the Tableau Mobile App and able to view your favorite vizzes.
