EAB Navigate360: Creating Saved Searches for Undergraduate and Graduate Students

Summary

For advisors who are responsible for advising both undergraduate and graduate students, they can create saved searches to pull these lists in EAB Navigate with a single click. Saved Searches are dynamic, so they will automatically update when a student is assigned to that advisor.

 

How-To

Pulling a list of Undergraduate Advisees

Task: To pull a list for undergraduate advisees

Instructions

Step 1 - Navigate to the Advanced Search area of the application

Step 2 - Unfold the Term Data area

Step 3 - In the field, Classification (In Any of These) select, Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior

Step 4 - Below that use the field Classification (In None of these) select, Undergraduate

Step 5 - At the bottom of the screen to the right of the Search Icon, check the box, My Students Only

Step 6 - Click, Search

Step 7 - This will return all advisees for the current semester in undergraduate who you are responsible. Verify the list.

Step 8 - At the top of the screen, click Save

Step 9 - Name the Search accordingly. This will save the search and all its parameters and place it in the Lists and Saved Items area

Outcome

You will be able to look for advisors who are responsible for advising undergraduate students, and can create saved searches to pull these lists in EAB Navigate with a single click. Saved Searches are dynamic, so they will automatically update when a student is assigned to that advisor.

Task: To pull a list for graduate advisees

Instructions

Step 1 - Navigate to the Advanced Search area of the application

Step 2 - Unfold the Term Data area

Step 3 - In the field, Classification (In Any of These) select, Graduate

Step 4 - Below that use the field Classification (In None of these) select, Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior

Step 5 - At the bottom of the screen to the right of the Search Icon, check the box, My Students Only

Step 6 - Click, Search

Step 7 - This will return all advisees for the current semester in Graduate who you are responsible. Verify the list.

Step 8 - At the top of the screen, click Save

Running Saved Searches

Task: To run a saved search

Step 1 - Navigate to the Lists and Saved Items area

Step 2 - Click on the name of a saved Search

Step 3 - The system will run the search with the saved parameters set prior.
