How-To

A Canvas course template is a pre-formatted course shell that comes designed to help you get started building your Canvas course. The template includes a home page, course overview and resource section, and weekly module structure pre-populated with an overview and to do list, resource page, discussion, quiz, assignment, and weekly review page. Each element can be customized to fit the needs of your course. 

Task: Importing A Course Template to Your Canvas Course 

Instructions

Step 1 - Select Commons from the green Global Navigation bar on the left-hand side of the screen.

Step 2 - The Higher Education Weekly Iconic Template should be the first item in the library. If it is not, search Higher Education Weekly Iconic Template using the search bar at the top of your screen.

Step 3 - Select the template. On the new screen, click the blue Import/Download button on the right-hand side of the screen.

Step 4 - In the flyout menu, select the course(s) to which you would like to import the template. 

Step 5 - Click the blue Import into the Course button to automatically apply it to the selected course(s).

Outcome

You will be able to add the PSU Course Temple from the Canvas Commons.
