J-Term: Important Information for Students

This article outlines important information for students enrolled in UNH's J-Term courses.

Task: This article will provide information for students, who will thus be better informed on accessing their J-Term courses and relevant information. 

 

Instructions

To access courses students should visit their myCourses i.e. Canvas. Courses begin on December 27, 2025

24/7 technical support (including log-in assistance) is available to faculty and students via our ET&S Client Portal at http://www.usnh.edu/it/need-it-help. You can access support in your Canvas course by navigating to Help in Canvas's lower left menu area.  It is important that students complete the following steps by December 20 (beginning of UNH Holiday Break) to resolve any questions you have before your class starts.  

1.   Go to myCourses to ensure you can successfully log into your course. 

2.   Review your course syllabus to determine the materials and technologies you will need. Check your computer to verify that you can access the materials. 

3.   Install apps on your mobile device to stay connected to your online course while on the go. Canvas, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom have mobile apps available for free at the iTunes App Store and Google Play store. 

4 .  If this is your first online course, please review https://online.unh.edu/student-experience/online-learning-tips to familiarize yourself with online student life, in addition to what is expected of you. 

5. Technology Support is also available 24/7 (including over the UNH Holiday break) and information can be found by visiting http://www.usnh.edu/it/need-it-help or use the myCourses Support Form to submit your support request to the ET&S Help Desk.  Walk up support in Dimond Library will resume on January 2, 2025. 

6. Library research and technical support will be available during business hours Monday, December 23rd – Tuesday, December 24th. Library research and technical support will check email at least twice a day during the week.

For problems accessing research databases, online articles, and similar resources, fill out the Report an Access Problem form 

Regular J-Term library hours will resume Thursday, January 2, 2024. 

 

Outcome

Students will have the information they need to access courses and additional information for a successful J-Term.
