A1 - What is a Sponsored IT Account?
- Sponsored IT Accounts are intended to provide access to IT computing resources for individuals who do not have a qualifying affiliation with USNH, but who do have legitimate business with USNH requiring IT access. Examples of potential Sponsored IT Account candidates include:
- Contractors, Consultants and Vendors
- Visiting students and scholars
- Affiliate Faculty
- Volunteers

A2 - How Do I Request a Sponsored IT Account?
- Visit the Accounts Management System and log in
- Click Add
- Click New Sponsored User
- Complete the form and select required access. Choose the minimum amount of access required for the Sponsored IT Account holder to carry out their business with USNH.
- Verify your submission and click Submit Account Requests
- The request will automatically be routed to the designated sponsor for approval. The Sponsored user will receive an email notification when the Sponsored IT Account is ready.

A3 - Who can approve Sponsored IT Account requests?
- KSC: Requests for KSC Sponsored IT Accounts are processed, vetted, and approved by KSC Information Technology Help Desk leadership.
- PSU: PSU Sponsored IT Accounts are processed by the PSU Information Technology Help Desk. For more specific information regarding this process and approvals needed, please see PSU: Sponsored User Accounts.
- UNH: UNH Sponsored IT Accounts must be approved by a Dean, Vice President, Provost and Executive Vice President, the University President or their Designated Sponsor Representative (DSR).
- USNH System Office: USNH Sponsored IT Accounts must be approved by the Chancellor's Office.

A4 - What is a Designated Sponsor Representative (DSR)?
- A Dean, Vice President, Provost, Executive Vice President, or University President may choose to appoint an employee to act as a sponsor in their place. This person is referred to as a DSR and holds the status until a request is made to remove it.

A5 - What is the Role of the Sponsor?
- The Sponsor assures verification of the Sponsored IT Account holder's identity, affiliation, and intended usage of USNH IT computing resources. The Sponsor will also assure the Sponsored IT Account holder's compliance with all applicable USNH IT Standards and Policies (including but not limited to the USNH Acceptable Use and the USNH Password Policies), and accepts responsibility for the actions of the sponsored individual.

A6 - What if I have a group of individuals who need identical Sponsored IT Accounts?
- Use the Group Sponsorship Form to request Sponsored IT Accounts for a group of individuals with identical account needs, duration, and purpose at USNH.
- Depending on group size, group sponsorship processing can take up to 5 business days.

A7 - What is the duration of the sponsorship?
- A Sponsored IT Account will have a duration of 90 days unless a shorter term is specified in the account request.

A8 - How do I request additional accounts for a Sponsored User?
- If additional accounts are required after Sponsored User access has been granted, an additional request for sponsorship must be submitted, by following these steps:
- Visit the Accounts Management System and log in
- Click Add
- Click New Sponsored User
- On Step 3. Enter Sponsored User Information, SKIP the optional "Find User Info" button. Instead, fill in the sponsored user's information manually.
- Proceed to the next screen to Select the additional account(s) or access to be added
- Verify your submission and click Submit Account Requests

A9 - How do I renew a Sponsorship?
- An attempt will be made to notify Sponsors when a Sponsorship is nearing the expiration date. If no action is taken upon receipt of the notification, the sponsorship will expire and access will be terminated on the expiration date.
- To renew a Sponsored IT Account prior to the end date if you are the original requester:
- Browse to the Accounts Management System and log in
- Click View My Approved Sponsorship Requests in the left navigation bar
- Locate the user’s name and select either Renew to extend the sponsorship or Revoke to terminate the sponsorship prior to the expiration date
- Complete the onscreen instructions and submit the form
- The request will automatically be routed to the appropriate Sponsor for approval.
- To renew a Sponsored IT Account prior to end date if you are NOT the original requester:
- Visit the Accounts Management System and log in
- Click Edit
- Click Renew Sponsored User
- Complete the onscreen instructions and submit the form
- The request will automatically be routed to the appropriate Sponsor for approval
- NOTE: If the Sponsorship has already expired, follow the steps for requesting a New Sponsored User Account instead.

A10 - How do I request termination of a Sponsored IT Account?
- Sponsored IT Accounts will automatically terminate after the expiration date. To request that a Sponsored IT Account be terminated before the expiration date:
- Visit the Accounts Management System and log in
- Click Remove
- Click Revoke Sponsorship Status and IT Access
- Complete the form, verify the information, and click Submit
