Summary
This article explains how to enable and disable replies to announcements on Canvas
Prior to Spring 2016, by default, anyone could reply to announcements. Those replies would then show up on the Announcement page and be visible to anyone with access to the Canvas course. USNH has now changed the default settings so that students cannot reply to announcements.
Note: Anyone enrolled in the course as a non-student, e.g. teachers and TAs, will still be able to reply to announcements via text/email.
If copying a course from Fall 2015 or a sandbox, please double-check the setting by following the steps below.

Task: Enable comments on announcements
Instructions
Step 1 - Select your course and click Settings on the course menu.
Step 2 - Scroll to the bottom of the page.
Step 3 - Un-check Disable comments on announcements.
Outcome
You can now enable and disable comments on announcements.
