• New students should complete the New Student Checklist prior to attending June Orientation, and
• All students should complete the New & Returning Students Checklist prior to coming to campus in the fall.
• Some items may be repeated on both checklists.

 

New Student Checklist

To Do

• Set up your myAccount Information
  Instructions for managing your campus username and password.
• Set up your Student Email Account
  Instructions for Android, iOS, and accessing email via the web.
• Review your computing needs
  Find college-specific specs for hardware and software.
• Download free antivirus software
  For MacOS and Windows (required for campus Internet access).
• Get Microsoft Office for free
  All of the apps you know and recognize.

 

New & Returning Students Checklist
- Complete Before Returning to Campus 

We have created two lists to help you prepare for the coming year. You’ll also find many of these items through your local campus portal.

To Do

• Pre-register your game console for the campus Network.
• Get Microsoft Office for free.
• Set up your campus email on your mobile device or computer.
• Download free antivirus software
  For MacOS and Windows (required for campus Internet access).
• Set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) to access your email, courses, portal, grades, schedule, etc.
• Save, share and access your files with Microsoft OneDrive.
• Review your Account Sign-in Methods  annually to ensure they are up-to-date. 
  • Verify at least two methods for MFA Verification, e.g. authenticator app and phone.
  • Verify that you have both cell phone and personal email set up for account Password Recovery - this will prevent unwanted delays in accessing your account should you forget your password or if your mobile device is lost or stolen.

 

To Know

• When you arrive on campus, connect to eduroam and enter your <username>@usnh.edu and the password associated with your email account.
• Verify your account and password security settings in the MyAccount tool
• Purchase computers or tech supplies from the USNH Computer Purchasing Program
• Print from your own computer or phone through Student Printing
• Explore free and low-cost educational apps shared by UNH Student Accessibility Services
