Enhancements to Canvas New Quizzes have been happening over the past several months. The New Quizzes functionality, usability, and stability has reached a point where Canvas is encouraging schools to move away from using Classic Quizzes. While both Classic Quizzes and New Quizzes are currently available and faculty still have the option to use either quizzing tool, the university system is offering a New Quizzes pilot during the Fall 2026.
The list of support articles below will highlight the differences between New Quizzes and the existing Classic quiz tool, how to migrate your existing quizzes and banks, how to create new quizzes, and how to do grading of them. All articles will continually be updates as new features or functionality are released.
