Microsoft Licensing: Installing Microsoft Visio or Project

Summary

This article provides instructions to request the appropriate license and install Microsoft Visio or Microsoft Project to your Windows computer. These programs are available to USNH Faculty and Staff upon request.

How-To

Prior to starting the installation procedure for Microsoft Visio and/or Microsoft Project, you must ensure your PC is running Windows 10 or newer. If your PC meets this requirement, request a license for the software.

You must install the application within 6 months of being granted the license. If you have not installed the application within 6 months or have installed the application but have not used it within the last six consecutive months, your license is revoked. If you require a new license after your license has been revoked, request a new license for the software.

Task: To install Visio and/or Project.

Instructions

Step 1 - Once you have been granted the license, open a web browser on your computer and navigate to https://portal.office.com

Step 2 - Sign in with your username@usnh.edu, password, and MFA if required.

Step 3 - In the upper right corner of the page, look for a dropdown box "Install and more".  Click it and select "Install Microsoft 365 apps".

Follow the instructions in the window to find the software, for example depending on your version of Windows, select Start and then scroll to find the software in from your list of apps.
