Manually Adding PaperCut Queues to Managed Windows Devices (ETS Internal)

Summary

This article has instructions to manually add PaperCut queues to a managed Windows device. Reasons this may be necessary include

  • adding a direct queue with a custom configuration or drivers,
  • if the automatically added "follow me" queues have been removed from the endpoint, or
  • if the “follow me” queues were not added automatically in the first place.

Unlike the automatic installation through InTune, this method may require administrative privileges if the necessary drivers have not been preinstalled which may require assistance from a Client Services technician. These instructions are only for managed devices; for unmanaged devices, use PaperCut Mobility print instead of this method.

How-To

Before you begin

  • If you are on-campus, make sure you are connected to Eduroam (or wired Ethernet)
  • If you are off-campus, make sure you are connected to the VPN
  • Make sure you are logged into your institutional account that you intend to print from on the device

Step 8 (Optional) - Print a test page to confirm the queue is operational.

Step 9 - Choose "Finish" to complete the installation.

Note: you can only add one queue at a time. Repeat steps 3-9 for each queue you wish to add.

Outcome

When the installation is complete, the queue(s) you specified will be available on the device.
