Task: Check storage usage and quota for OneDrive and SharePoint
View OneDrive Storage Usage
Using OneDrive on the Web:
- Sign in to OneDrive (https://portal/office.com/onedrive).
- On the bottom of the left panel, your storage usage is displayed along with the total available space.
- Clicking the highlighted usage value will open a more detailed breakdown of your largest files.
Using the OneDrive Sync App (Windows)
- Find the OneDrive icon: In the system tray (bottom-right corner), select the OneDrive cloud icon.
- Open settings: Right-click the icon and choose Settings.
- View Storage: Storage used and available is shown on the bottom left of the Sync and Backup tab.
- Click Manage Storage: This will open a page in your browser showing your OneDrive’s largest files to aid in cleanup.
Using the OneDrive Sync App (MacOS)
- Find the OneDrive icon: Look for the OneDrive cloud icon in the menu bar at the top right of your MacOS screen.
- Open Preferences: Click the icon and choose Preferences.
- View Account storage: Click the Account tab to view storage used and available, select Manage Storage to see your storage usage. This will open a browser page displaying your storage details.

View SharePoint Site Storage Metrics
Important! Only users with owner or admin permissions on the SharePoint site will be able to view storage metrics.
For Site Owners and Admins:
- Launch your SharePoint site.
- Select Settings (gear icon top right) > Site Information > View all site settings (at the bottom).
- Under the Site Collection Administration section, select Storage Metrics to view detailed site storage usage.
- Your site collection storage quota will appear in the top right corner of the Storage Metrics page, along with a breakdown of data usage.

Your OneDrive and SharePoint storage and usage data are displayed.
