DO NOT punch a hole in your RFID capable ID card. This will disable the ability to use the card for tap access. Instead use a badge holder if you want to hang the card on a lanyard or retractable key chain.

Task: To Release print jobs at a printer/copier

Instructions

After you send your print job to the printer/copier, there are three methods for releasing print jobs from Xerox Multi-Function (MFD) Printers: using the posted QR code, the printer control panel (tap-to-release), or a web browser.

Task: To use Copy Features

Instructions

Step 1 - Tap your ID card on the card tap logo  or press the keyboard icon to log in with username and password. See detailed instructions on Logging In and Out of Xerox Printer/Copier/Scanners (MFD).

Step 2 - Choose "Access Device" from the PaperCut MF menu

Step 3 - Choose Copy from the Device Access screen

Step 4 - Proceed to copy as usual, adjusting settings as needed, using the document feeder if desired, etc.

Step 5 - If you want to complete a different action on the device, press the PaperCut MF button to return to the PaperCut MF menu.

Step 6 - If finished, press the User button (person icon) in the upper left, then tap the Log Out option to log out and display the device log in screen.

Outcome

You are able to make copies on the Xerox printer/copier/scanner MFD.

Task: To use Scanning Features, including scan to Email or to OneDrive

Instructions

Step 1 - Tap your ID card on the card tap logo  or press the keyboard icon to log in with username and password. See detailed instructions on Logging In and Out of Xerox Printer/Copier/Scanners (MFD).

Step 2 - Choose "Scan" from the PaperCut MF menu

Step 3 - Choose your desired Scan Action:

Step 4 (Optional) - Type a new Filename in the box, if desired, or keep the default filename.  For the Scan to My Email option, type a new email Subject in the box, if desired.

Step 5 - Load your document in the feeder or on the flatbed glass.

Step 6- Press the Start button to begin the scan with default settings. Or press "Change Settings" to adjust scanning options, if desired (more details below).

Step 7 (Optional): Adjust your desired Scan Settings. Available Scan Settings include (default values are underlined):

  • Duplex mode: Scan from a 1-sided or 2-sided document (use with document feeder).
  • Orientation: Scan in Portrait or Landscape mode
  • Paper Size: Scan to fit Letter, Legal, or Ledger size paper
  • File Type: Scan to a PDF, JPEG (image), or DOCX (MS Word) output file.
  • DPI: Choose the number of Dots Per Inch (DPI) to be scanned.  Options are 100, 200, 300 or 600 DPI.  The higher the number, the crisper the image and the larger the resulting file will be. Default is 200 DPI for Scan to My Email and 300 DPI for Scan To OneDrive.
  • Color mode: Scan in Color, Grayscale, or B&W (black & white)
  • Check box to Prompt for more pages: Check this if you want to scan more than one page into a single output file.  Un-checked by default.

Step 8 - When all settings are as desired, press the Start button to begin the scan.

Step 9 - Wait for the Scan Complete confirmation screen.

Step 10 - When finished, press the Log Out icon (door with arrow pointing right) to log out and display the device log in screen.

Outcome

Your document(s) will be scanned to the location you chose with the scan settings you specified or accepted.

Task: One Time Authorization for Scanning to OneDrive

Instructions

Step 1 - When you use the "Scan To OneDrive" option for the first time, check your email for a notification from “Scans for PaperCut MF <scans@papercut.com>” requesting authorization to copy files (your scanned documents) to a folder in your OneDrive account.

Step 2 - Click the “Login to OneDrive for Business” button/link in the email to provide authorization and allow scanning to OneDrive.

Step 3 - Your default web browser will open. Log into your USNH M365 account with your username@usnh.edu, password, and MFA, if required.

Step 4 - Once you are logged into your USNH M365 account, the browser will show success.

Step 5 - After about 5 minutes, you will receive an email that the scans are being copied to your OneDrive.

Step 6 - Future “Scan To One Drive” scanned documents will go to your "Scans for PaperCut MF" folder:  OneDrive > Apps > Scans for PaperCut MF

 

Outcome

Your document(s) will be scanned and uploaded to your USNH OneDrive.
