Understanding Unverified, External, and Guest Users
Sometimes you will see the word “Unverified” next to a person’s name in a Teams meeting participants list. This usually means that the person joined the meeting via a link without logging into Teams.
You may also see "External" next to some participants names.
Additionally you may also see  "Guest" next to some participant names.

Your Account Shows up as Unverified
Other participants can see that you are unverified, and you can also see yourself as unverified if you are not logged in with a recognized Microsoft account.
Depending on how the meeting is setup, unverified users may not have access to all of the meeting features. For this reason, USNH recommends that all USNH users sign in when prompted before joining a Teams meeting.
