Outlook: Setting your Default Email Response to Reply, or Reply all

Summary

This article explains how to set your default email response in the Outlook Web App to reply only to the sender of the original email (Reply), or to everyone listed in the To and Cc fields (Reply all). Your selected default setting appears on the top of the drop-down response menu in the email message window.

Task: To set a default email response in the Outlook Web App to reply only to the sender of the original email (Reply), or to everyone listed in the To and Cc fields (Reply all).

Instructions

Step 1 - Access your USNH email account  

Step 2 - Click Settings (the gear icon) in the upper right hand corner of the Outlook window.

Step 3 - In the Mail Settings, select Compose.

Step 4 - Scroll down to the Reply or Reply all section and choose a default response.

  • Click Reply to respond only to the sender.
  • Click Reply all to respond to everyone in the To and Cc fields of the message.

Reply or Reply all - Choose your default response when you reply from the reading pane.

 

Step 5 - Click Save.

 

Outcome

The selected default setting appears on the top of the drop-down response menu in the email message window.
