This article provides instructions on how to download the Offline Global Address List to your computer to use when disconnected from the Exchange server.
How-To
The Offline Global Address List can be downloaded and accessed later when you are disconnected from the Exchange server. Typically, the Office Global Address List is updated every 8 hours.
Task: To download the Offline Global Address List to your computer.
Instructions
Step 1 - In Outlook, click File.
Step 2 - Click Account Settings > Download Address Book....
Step 3 - In the Offline address book dialog box,
- uncheck Download changes since last Send/Receiveto download the GAL for the first time. Note: This can take up to 15 minutes to complete.
- check Download changes since last Send/Receiveto download the changes made since you last downloaded the GAL.
Step 4 - Choose \Offline Global Address List from the Choose address book: drop-down menu.
Step 5 - Click OK.
Outcome
The Offline Global Address List is saved to your computer.
