Outlook: Adding a Shared Mailbox to your Outlook Mobile Application

This article provides instructions on how to add and removed a shared mailbox to your Outlook mobile application.

 

How-To

If you use the Outlook Mobile application, you can add a shared mailbox you have permissions to access.

 

Task: To add a shared mailbox to Outlook on a mobile device.

 

Instructions

  1. Open the Outlook app on your mobile device.
  2. Access the Menu by clicking the icon in the top left corner.  This icon will look different depending on which accounts are already added to the Outlook app.
  3. Open Settings in the bottom left corner.
  4. Click Accounts.
  5. Click Add Account.
  6. Choose Shared Mailbox.
  7. Type the email address for the Shared Mailbox.
  8. Click Add Shared Mailbox.
  9. Return to the main screen.
  10. Access the Menu by clicking the icon in the top left corner.
  11. Your Shared Mailbox will now be among your listed accounts.

Outcome

The shared mailbox displays in your account list in Outlook on your mobile device.

Task: To remove a shared mailbox.

 

Instructions

  1. Open the Outlook app on your mobile device.
  2. Access the Menu by clicking the icon in the top left corner.  This icon will look different depending on which accounts are already added to the Outlook app.
  3. Open Settings in the bottom left corner.
  4. Click Accounts.
  5. Choose your Shared Mailbox.
  6. Scroll down and tap Remove Account.
  7. Confirm removal by tapping Remove.
     

Outcome

The shared mailbox is no longer displayed in your account list in Outlook on your mobile device.
